LABEL STOCKS
Labelstocks consist of three layers: face stock, adhesive, and release paper or film. In some cases an over-laminate film may also be applied over the face stock. Various combinations of materials offer labelstocks that satisfy a variety of performance requirements.
PRINTED/PLAIN LABELS
Labels that are applied to packaging to indicate the contents, product specifications, contact details, health and safety warnings and guidelines for use, and any additional marketing, branding, or pricing information that applies to a product.
Paper or Film Tags are attached to objects using a thread or tie rather than an adhesive. They are usually made of thicker materials such as heavy paper stock or film stock. These can be die cut with a hole or holes so that they can be hung from an object or display, or threaded onto a hanger.
RELEASE LINERS
The release liner is a non stick material that can be used to cover sticky surfaces like adhesive tapes. It carries the adhesive and face material of a pressure sensitive label. The release liner always has a release coating that prevents the adhesive from sticking permanently to the backing, which allows the face material and adhesive to be removed together when a label is being applied to a substrate. It is the bottom layer in many any pressure sensitive construction. The release liner protects the adhesive and supports the face material during the die cutting process, printing process, and storage.
